My experience working within the Employment, Education and Training Industry spans almost 30 years.  During this time I managed a private Training Company, managed numerous large community funded projects, some with budgets in excess of £4 million and more recently I formed and run a local not for profit company, tackling the barriers within the sector. The multiple roles held over this time have given me a vast knowledge of the sector and the needs the young people of our community have.

My role as a Managing Director and that of Chair of Governors collectively encourage and drive my passion for the local community and the skill levels and employability of the people of Hull.

I have over 25 years experience as a primary teacher, the majority of that time was spent working at Ings Primary, so I am delighted to be able to continue my association with the school and support it in any way I can as a member of the Governing body.  I have also worked as a Youth worker and a moderator for the local authority and have mentored several newly qualified teachers. I have a particular interest in special educational needs, having previously worked as the school’s SENDCO.  I welcome the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the school in its future development.  I live locally and enjoy travelling, walking and the theatre plus spending time with my two young grandsons.
